Wander and melt in happy valley 熔入此地

Artwork description:

I participated Young Artist-in-Residence@V54 at a time, with Happy Valley as the research site. In this plan, I mainly studied with the height and geography of Happy Valley. The experience of a wandering in the hot summer is extremely hard, let me pay attention to the slope and temperature of this place.

In creation, the candle is the inspiration that this place brings me and will melt when I encounter heat. I heated the candle to melt it into a liquid and poured it into the mold, presenting one of the main sloping arterial roads in Happy Valley. I used some black, white and gray acrylic to join the candles and painted the landscapes of the road, and I also added my footprints to this mold.

These monotones are expressing my heat stroke in the hot summer, a hazy vision, while it also expresses a long history of Happy Valley.
